Waldorf Astoria Tour, Lunch at Oscars, and Grand Central Terminal Tour

Your day will include a tour of the Waldorf Astoria. As one of the first"grand hotels"; the Waldorf has been world renowned for over a century. A member of the National Trust Historic Hotels of America, and an official New York City landmark since 1993, the Art Deco property occupies an entire city block of prime, mid-town Manhattan real estate. Recent renovations totaling $400 million have renewed the splendor that has long made the Waldorf an international icon. You will lunch at Oscars in the Waldorf and then tour Grand Central Terminal. Your guide will point out the things you miss while running for a train: the real gold chandeliers and the sky ceiling; places you didn't know about: the whispering gallery and kissing room; and areas like the Grand Central Market, a "foodies paradise" of foods from around the world.      Please note that these are walking tours.      Register by sending a check payable to "Senior Center" to PO Box 83, New Canaan.

These three teen idols of the late 50s and early 60s, performing together as the Golden Boys, have been playing to packed houses across the country since 1985. You will enjoy lunch at the Bird and Bottle Inn in Garrison, New York before crossing the river to West Point.

Lunch on the Bateaux and King Tut at the Discovery Times Square Exposition

Thursday, May 6, $100 (wait list only)

Step aboard the European-inspired, all glass Bateaux for a New York Harbor cruise. You will enjoy a gourmet lunch while admiring the views of New York City and listening to the sweet sounds of the jazz pianist.

Then you will go to the new Dscovery Times Square Exhibition Hall to see the legendary treasures of King Tut. It has been more than 30 years since the dazzling array of Tut's possessions, unearthed from his tomb, has been seen in New York City.
